Chinese Exchange Information Meeting
Dear AEA Middle School Families,
Since 2018 we have worked with American International Academy for Global Education (AIA) on a cultural exchange with China. AEA has hosted several groups of Chinese students over the past year and we are looking forward to continuing this international experience by hosting a group of Chinese students again after winter break. In parallel AIA has been looking into options for a visit of AEA students to China, and their representatives Mary Mezinis and Melinda Sauls presented their programs at our back-to-school night on September 26th.
We are very excited to see that so many families have shown an interest in sending their child on an educational trip to China! Due to time constraints we will not be able to support a trip in January but AlA is putting a special 10-day trip to Beijing, Zibo/Qingdao and Shandong Province together for the end of March 2020. During this trip, students will visit iconic sights like the Great Wall but will also have the opportunity to visit Chinese schools and attend classes.
AEA is committed to not allowing cost to become a barrier to attend and will work with eligible families to insure any student can attend. If you would like to find out more about this trip and/or would like to host a Chinese student after winter break please join us for an informational meeting on Thursday November 7th at 5:00 pm in room 212.

Estimados padres de familia:
Desde el año 2018, hemos estado trabajando con la Academia Americana Internacional para la Educación Global (American International Academy for Global Education AIA por sus siglas en inglés) para poder tener un intercambio cultural con China. El año pasado AEA recibió de varios grupos de alumnos chinos y queremos continuar con esta experiencia internacional recibiendo nuevamente a un grupo de alumnos después de las vacaciones de invierno. De forma paralela, AIA ha estado buscando opciones para que alumnos de AEA vayan a visitar China. Sus representantes Mary Mezinis y Melinda Sauls presentaron sus programas en la noche de regreso a clases el 26 de septiembre.
¡Nos da mucho gusto ver que muchas familias han mostrado interés de mandar a su hijo a un viaje educativo a China! Debido a complicaciones en los tiempos, no vamos a poder promover el viaje en enero pero AIA está organizando un viaje especial de 10 días a Bijing, Zibo/Qingdao yla provincia de Shandong para finales de marzo del 2020. Durante este viaje, los niños visitarán lugares icónicos comola Muralla China y tendrán la oportunidad de visitar escuelas chinas y asistir a clases.
AEA se compromete a que el costo del viaje no se convierta en una barrera para asistir y hablará con las familias que necesiten ayuda para asegurar que cualquier estudiante pueda asistir. Si usted quiere más información sobre este viaje o si quiere recibir en su casa a un niño chino después de las vacaciones de invierno, venga a la junta informativa el jueves 7 de noviembre a las 5 pm en el salón 212.
